等离子旋转电极雾化法制备TB6钛合金粉末

TB6 titanium alloy powders prepared by PREP method

  • 摘要: 选取钛合金Ti–10V–2Fe–3Al(TB6)棒材为原料,采用等离子旋转电极雾化法(plasma rotating electrode process,PREP)制备球形TB6钛合金粉末,研究了钛合金电极转速对球形粉末尺寸、外形的影响,分析了粉末粒径与O、N含量的变化规律和相成分。实验表明:电极转速越快合金粉末的粒径分布区间越大,小尺寸粉末所占的比例也越高,粉末平均粒径越小,20000 r/min转速时粉末粒径分布区间为70~170 μm,转速为28000 r/min时粉末粒径分布区间为40~160 μm。TB6钛合金粉末尺寸越小,胞状枝晶组织越少,粉末表面越光滑,但粉末表面吸附的O、N元素越多。转速为28000 r/min的粉末相组成主要为β-Ti,同时发现含有少量α-Fe。PREP法制备的钛合金粉末球形度好、卫星粉极少,常用于选区激光熔融化成形工艺。

     

    Abstract: The spherical Ti–10V–2Fe–3Al alloy (TB6) powders were prepared by the plasma rotating electrode processing (PREP), using the raw materials of TB6 rods. The influence of titanium alloy electrode rotational speed on the particle size and shape of spherical powders was studied, the variation patterns between powder particle size and the content of O and N, along with the phase composition, were systematically analyzed. The experiment indicates that the higher the electrode rotational speed, the broader the particle size distribution range of the alloy powders, with a higher proportion of smaller particle size powders and a smaller average particle size powders. The particle size distribution range of the powders is 70~170 μm at a rotation speed of 20,000 r/min, and respectively, the particle size distribution range is 40~160 μm at a rotation speed of 28,000 r/min. The smaller the particle size of the TB6 powders, the less cellular dendritic structure, and the more O and N elements are adsorbed on the powders surface with the smoother spherical powders surface. The powders produced at a rotation speed of 28,000 r/min are predominantly composed of β-Ti phase, with minor α-Fe phase. The powders prepared by the PREP method show excellent sphericity with minimal satellite particles, and are suitable for Selective Laser Melting.
