The Properties of Fused Silica Composites

摘要: 用热压烧结方法制得碳纤维与氮化硅颗粒复合补强增韧熔石英基复合材料,其熔石英基体保持非晶态,只有少量鳞石英析出。材料的抗弯强度达到113.7MPa,断裂韧性为1.53MPa·m1/2,补强增韧效果明显。氮化硅的加入减缓了碳纤维的氧化,提高了材料的抗烧蚀性能。地面模拟试验表明,此材料完全符合某些航天器件的使用要求。Abstract: The carbon fibers and nitride silicon particles reinforced fused silica composite was fabricated using hot Pressing method. The fused silica matrix is mostly amorphous except for a little amount of tridymite precipitated. The flexural strength value of 113.7MPa, and the fracture toughness value of 1.53MPa·m1/2. Show the reinforced effects to be very obvious.The addition of some Si3N4 particles retards the oxidation of carbon fibers and increases the burning-erosion resistance.Result of simulation carried out on the ground shows that such composite can meet the requirements for application to some spaceflight parts.
