Abstract:
A P/M bimetal cylinder is developed by means of sintering welding. The cylinder base metal is 45 carbon steel. On cylinder's plunger hole surface and oil distribution face, a layer of copper-lead alloy which has excellent performance in antifriction is sintered, In this paper, the mechanical and physical properties of antifriction material were simply discribed. The main results of two platform tests were presented. It has been shown that the determined volume efficiency of cylinder was η
v 92.35% which was higher than that η
v=88% of Standard of Mechanism Section and the amount of wear of antifriction layer was tiny. The p/M composite material cylinder has more obviously technological and economical results as compared with the cylinder made of iron-aluminum bronze (QAL 9-4) and composite metal cylinder by casting.
