YC09-Hard Metal for Cutting Thermal Sputter Coating

  • YC09 grade introduced in this paper is a new hard metal tool materia for machining thermal-sputter coating. It is ultra-micro tungsten carbide base alloy. It has extremely high hardness (HRA 94) and wear resistance as well as sufficient heat resistance and appropriate toughness. Its bending strength is higher than 120kg/mm2. This alloy is suitable for turning and milling nickel base, cobalt base, iron base thermal-sputter coating. when it is used in machining high hardness thermal-sputter coatings with HRC 72, YC09 exhibits high outstanding advantages. many cutting instances have shown that a lot of problems in machining thermal-sputter coatings have solved by using YC09.
