FORMING OF POWDER METALLURGY Ti-14Al-21Nb ALLOY BY HIP

  • This paper has discussed a method for forming Ti-14Al-21Nb alloyed powder by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and the influence of its parameters on tensile strength. It is an effective method of HIP forming by using titanium capsule and using Ti3Al base alloyed powder for electron-beam wel ding. Alloy with α2+β structure can be obtained by HIP, but the contents of primary α2 phase decrease with increasing temperature of HIP. Superior strength and elongation can be obtained by HIP at 1100℃.
