DEVELOPMENTS OF P/M Nb-Ti-Al ALLOY

  • The niobium corrosion-resistant meter structural materials (Nb-40Ti-4Al-(0.2~0.3) O alloy) made by P/M process have been studied. Results have shown that the densified monophase solid solution (0.2%~0.3% oxygen content) with homogeneous composition could be made by mixing Nb-Al intermidiate alloy powder and Ti powder that followed by compacting and sintering in vacuum at 1700℃ for 4h. This alloy is easy to be machined and has a superior combination of properties. Therefore, it is an ideal corrosion-resistant meter structural material with satisfactory performance in practical use.
