  • Nanosized WC-Co hardmetal powder prepared by attrition mill method (mechanical alloying) is compacted by die pressing. A preliminary study has been performed regarding to the relation between powder green density and pressing pressure, which is compared with microsized WC-Co powder. The results show that green density of nanosized powder is lower than that of microsized powder. Green density of nanosized powder decreases with the increase of milling time. VC in nanosized powder makes green density decrease. In compression equation, m of nanosized powder is lower than that of microsized powder, and die pressing factor of nanosized powder is much higher than that of microsized powder.
