Abstract
The present paper has studied the effects of raw material iron powder, density of matrix skeleton, the temperature and duration of infiltration and other factors on the mechanical properties and structure of copper-infiltrated sintered steel. Experiment has shown the obvious influences of the factors mentioned above on the structure and properties of alloy. P/M parts with a density of 7.4-7.9g/cm3 and the strength being comparable to or higher than that of 45# steel and 20C rsteel can be manufactured by the infiltration of copper into sintered steel under the condition of conventional equipment.
