STUDY ON ISOSTATIC EXTRUSION DEFORMATION OF HIGH DENSITY TUNGSTEN ALLOY AND ITS DEFORMATION AGING STRENGTHENING

  • By using recently developed isostatic extrusion processing technology,work deformation was conducted for conventional W-Ni-Fe alloy and influence on its deformation aging strengthening was studied. Isostatic extrusion working has the characteristics of lubrication condition and homogeneous deformation, etc. and is caP8ble of raising the technological plasticity of high density tungsten alloy and obviously improving the mechanical properties of alloy. Furthermore,it has been found during annealing process of defomed alloy that there is a deformation aging strengthening area 500~600℃. The tensile strength of an age-treated alloy is 1530 MPa. The paper has systematically studied the influence of deformation quantity and deformation asing temperature on the mechanical properties of alloy and discussed the main cause of alloy strengthening. The authors hold that the isostatic extrusion working is the best technology for high density tungsten alloy deformation working and the following deformation aging treatment is favourable for further improvement strength of alloy. The strength effect is mainly due to the strengthening of tungsten particle and interface.
