INFLUENCE OF SMALL AMOUNT OF A1 ON PROPERTIES AND STRUCTURE OF WC-13%Fe/Co/Ni CEMENTED CARBIDE

  • Influence of small addition of A1 on the properties and structures of WC-13%Fe/Co/Ni alloy has been studied. The experimental results have shown that A1 can refine the WC grains in the alloy and increase the hardness and meanwhile the bending strength of the alloy. The bending strength will increase by 100~200MPa. The metallographic studies have indicated that the bonding phase of the WC-13%Fe/Co/Ni alloy with addition of small A1 is mainly of γ phase and lath martensite with partial existense of α+ (Fe,Me)3C lamellar structure.
