A STUDY OF HOT FORGING PROCESS OF P/M HSS WITHOUT PRESINTERING

The present article describes the hot forging process of P/M HSS compacts without presintering and the decontamination of HSS chips,the Purification of the protective atmosphere in Hametag mill,The annealing the pulverized powder under the positive presure of high purity argon gas,preform pressing and closed die forging are also discussed. A comparision between the hot forged compact without presintering and the one with presintering shows that the former's relative density increases by 0.73 per cent.A system research on the two different processes demonstrates that P/M HSS preform hot forging without presintering has the advantage over the preform hot forging with sintering.
