A STUDY ON WEAR RESISTANCE AND CUTTING CHARACTERISTICS OF SINTERED HIGH SPEED STEEL CUTTING TOOLS WITH Co-IMPREGNATING LAYER

This paper deals with the wear resistance and cutting characteristics of sintered high speed steel cutting tools with Co-impregnating layer. The experimental results show that its coefficients of friction and cutting force decreased obviously and surface hardness and wear resistance increased.Especially at a condition of intermediate cutting speed, the cutting ability and wear risistance are remarkably improved.
