EFFECT OF Na₂B₄O₇ ON COMPRESSION-SHEARING STRENGTH OF CERAMIC-LINED PIPES PRODUCED BY CENTRIFUGAL-SHS PROCESS

The effect of Na₂B₄O₇ additive on compression-shearing strength of ceramic-lined pipe produced by centrifugal-SHS process is studied. It is showed that the interfacial tension between Al₂O₃ and Fe drops with Na₂B₄O₇ as an additive. Accordingly, Al₂O₃ and Fe separate deficiently under the limited centrifugal force. Besides, the wettability between Al₂O₃ and Fe is improved. As a result, the compression-shearing strength is improved markedly.
