EFFECT OF Na2B4O7 ON COMPRESSION-SHEARING STRENGTH OF CERAMIC-LINED PIPES PRODUCED BY CENTRIFUGAL-SHS PROCESS

  • The effect of Na2B4O7 additive on compression-shearing strength of ceramic-lined pipe produced by centrifugal-SHS process is studied. It is showed that the interfacial tension between Al2O3 and Fe drops with Na2B4O7 as an additive. Accordingly, Al2O3 and Fe separate deficiently under the limited centrifugal force. Besides, the wettability between Al2O3 and Fe is improved. As a result, the compression-shearing strength is improved markedly.
