  • The article has discussed the application of the direct hot isostatic pressing to near-net-shape(HIP-NNS) process for beryllium mirror manufacture,The HIP-NNS process which has advantages of fast one-step compaction, reduced machining and low production cost is particularly suitable to the consolidation of special beryllium materials with characteristics of expensiveness, brittleness and toxicity. The HIP-NNS process produces monolithic Lightweight sandwich beryllium mirror without anisotropy and inhomogeneity of thermal expansion coefficient(CTE) in comparisoon with those made by traditional vacuum hot pressing method, and therefore the application of this beryllium mirror can be further widely expanded.
