For sintereed ferrous alloys, Fe-P alloying is one of the efficient methods used for improving and increasing the strength and toughness of iron base P/M products. The addition of given amounts of conpper into Fe-P-C sintered alloys reduces sintering shrinkge as well as further improves mechanical properties. The paper emphatically discussed the relationship between composition, microstructure and properties of Fe-P-C-Cu sintered alloys. The effects of different copper and carbon contents and sintering shrinkage of alloys are also described.
