RESEARCH ON WC-10%Ni NON-MAGNETIC CEMENTED CARBIDE WITH VC ADDITIONS

The conventional producing process of cemented carbide was applied on WC-10Ni alloy with various contents of VC additions. The results show that the alloy was changed from ferromagnetic into non-magnetic when the proper VC is added. The hardness is also improved. The bending strength of the alloy, however, is lower. The mechanism of the magnetic transformation of WC-10Ni cemented carbide with VC additions was primarily discussed.
