Abstract
A new intemal oxidation process carried out in a nitrogen base atmosphere is introduced. The influences of the process on the structure and properties of Cu base composites are studied in this paper. The experimental results show that alumina dispersion strengthened copper base composites with good heat-resistance can be produced by the means of the inner oxiding in a nitrogen base atmosphere. The process, especially the temperature of the intemal oxidation,affects obviously the properties of the composites. Under the condition of having good electrical conductivity,the composites have far better mechanical properties than pure copper.
