  • The present paper has described the die made by chromium carbide for forming mass spectrometer needle and double curved surface glass tube in surface analyzing instrument.The die was repeatedly operated under a high temperature of 800℃ with little deformation,ensuring high accuracy of glass product size.The die made by chromium carbide exhibits high oxidation resistance and no bonding with glass and is easy to eject.The performance durability of the die is over 10 times higher than that of the conventional lCr18-Ni9Ti material.Therefor chromium carbide is an ideal die material for producing "electric vacuum glass product". In addition, manufacturing technologies and properties of chromium carbide have also been outlined.
