EFFECTS OF ADDING LIQUID PHASE ALLOY ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF Sm2Co17RARE EARTH PERMANENT MAGNETS

  • This paper has introduced the effects of Sm Content on the magnetic properties of Sm2(Co, Cu, Fe, Zr)17 rare earth permanent magnets. The influences of various liquid alloy additions during liquid phase sintering process on the properties of alloy have also been studied. The Results have shown that it is easy to have botter and stailizing magnetic properties by adding liquid phase alloy. Intrinsic coercive force, iHc and energy product. (BH)max can be increased to about 48kA/m and 16kJ/m3 respectively when compared with those of conventional 2:17 rare earth alloy. Alloying composition can be manually tailored by liquid phase sintering, and thus rate of qualified products increases and commercial production of this magnets has great economic effect.
