  • TiC-Ni and TiC-Ni-Mo hard alloys were produced by SHS processing. In Ti-C-Ni system, molten Ti-Ni was formed, C dissolved into the melt and then TiC precipitated. Dense TiC-Ni alloy was formed by liquid phase sintering under pressure. Ni content influences the grain size and morphology of TiC. Mo additive decreases the grain size of TiC. The mechanical properties of TiC-Ni and TiC-Ni-Mo can be compared to those of conventional alloys having nearly similar composition.
