A STUDY ON BINDING MECHANISM OF Al2O3-TiC CERMET MATERIALS

  • This paper has analysized the solid solution strengthening of Cr and W in Al2O3 and TiC for Al2O3-TiC cermet by secondary electron image(SEI), backscattered electron image (BEI) and generating X-rays with JCXA-733 type electron probe, X-ray micro-analyser and 3014 type X-ray diffraction unit. The streng thening mechanism of Al2O3 and TiC,two continuous mesh skeletons which penetrate into each other was also studild. The present work has practical significance for the trial-preduction of high quality cermet used for cutting tool materials.
