INFLUENCE OF POROSITY AND GROOVE ON PROPERTIES OF WET TYPE SINTERED FRICTION MATERIALS

  • The test results of wet type sintered friction materials with the porosity of 9、23 and 30% showed that the dynamic friction coefficient increases and the duration of grinding decreases with the increase of porosity. The influence of groove type on its properties has also been discussed. Oil scrapping capacity concerned with dynamic friction coefficient increases with the decrease of included angle between groove and oil flowing direction on friction surface and the cooling effects increase with the increase of the angle. The experimental results also demonstrated that friction properties and cooling effects can be improved by increasing the density of groove.
