HEAT TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY OF P/M IRON BASE ROLLING WHEEL TAPPETS

The present paper has illustrated the importance of improving the properties of P/M materials by heat treatment. Examples have been given for the comparison of physical and mechanical properties between sintered steels and sintered steels after heat treatment both in sixties in west Europe and in China. Several heat treatment processes, mechanical properties before and after heat treatment, metallographic structure and the results obtained front trial run of roiling wheel tappet have been described.
