Designing Robust Powder Mixes for Warm Compaction

The consistency and properties of binder treated materials specifically designed for warm compaction on an industrial press were investigated.Specific test programs were conducted to quantify the effects of powder temperature on the consitency and stability of the compacting pressure and characteristics of green and sintered parts.The robustness of powder mixes to temperature fluctuation and production interruption were also evaluated.
